I am a Research Fellow in the Structure and Motion Lab at the Royal Veterinary College in London and I investigate different aspects of animal locomotion. Questions I am interested in are: How and when are forces generated over a gait/flight cycle, and how are bodies of different species shaped by the biomechanical requirements of their different life histories. I have studied bird and bat flight, investigated human gait ontogeny and gait transition and I am currently working on the different aspects of hunting performance in large African predators. I am also interested in the energetics and athletic performance of African herbivores.
